Major Words Vs Minor Words

စကားလုံးေတြကုိ အုပ္စုႏွစ္ခုခြဲျပီးေလ႔လာႏုိင္ပါတယ္။ အုပ္စုၾကီး နဲ႔ အုပ္စုငယ္ အျဖစ္ခြဲျခားသတ္မွတ္လုိက္တဲ႔ အခါမွာ အုပ္စုၾကီးထဲကစကားလုံးေတြဟာ ၀ါက်မွာ Meaning ကုိသယ္ေဆာင္ေပးျပီး အုပ္စုငယ္၀င္စကားလုံးေတြကေတာ႔ စကားလုံးေတြကုိ Meaningful ျဖစ္ေအာင္ ဆက္စပ္ေပးပါတယ္။
အုပ္စုၾကီး စကားလုံးေတြကုိ အေရအတြက္ကန္႔သတ္လုိ႔မရပါဘူး။ အုပ္စုငယ္စကားလုံးေတြကေတာ႔ အေရအတြက္ အကန္႔အသတ္ရွိတာေၾကာင္႔ ၀ါသနာပါမယ္ဆုိရင္ အလြတ္က်က္မွတ္ထားလုိ႔ ရေၾကာင္းပါခင္ဗ်ာ။
Words can be divided into two main groups: Major Words and Minor Words.
Major Words may be called Content Words because they can carry the meaning in the sentence. They are also called Open-system Words and they cannot be limited in numbers.
Minor Words may be called Structure Words as they hold words together to form meaningful sentences. They are limited in numbers.

Words

The word is the most basic unit of meaning in speech or writing.
စကားလုံးေတြဟာ စကားေျပာဆုိရာမွာပဲျဖစ္ျဖစ္ အေရးမွာပဲျဖစ္ျဖစ္ အေရးပါအရာေရာက္ဆုံးေသာ အစုျဖစ္ပါတယ္။
အဂၤလိပ္စာမွာ ေစာေစာကေျပာခဲ႔သလုိပါပဲ။ အဂၤလိပ္အကၡရာမွာ စာလုံး ၂၆ လုံးရွိပါတယ္။ အဲဒီ ၂၆ လုံးထဲက a, e, i, o, u သရ ၅ လုံးကုိ က်န္တဲ႔ ဗ်ည္း ၂၁ လုံးနဲ႔ သင္႔ေလ်ာ္သလုိ ေရာေႏွာ ေပါင္းစပ္လုိက္တဲ႔အခါမွာေတာ႔ စကားလုံး words ေတြ မေရမတြက္ႏုိင္ေလာက္ေအာင္ကုိ ရရွိလာပါတယ္။ ရလာတဲ႔စကားလုံး ေတြကေန စကားစု၊ ၀ါက်ငယ္၊ ၀ါက် အစရွိသည္ျဖင္႔ အဆင္႔ဆင္႔ ၀ါက်ျဖစ္ေအာင္ဖြဲ႔စည္းတည္ေဆာက္ႏုိင္ပါတယ္။ ဥပမာအားျဖင္႔ေအာက္ပါ၀ါက်မ်ားကုိေလ႔လာၾကည္႔ပါ။

(a) The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog.

(b) The cat sat on the mat.

(c) The large and rather vicious moggy given to us last week by a dotting grandchild should not have been sitting on the Persian carpet in the living room.
